Domestic feline management program

Donation protected
The problem of domestic cat over population, is not a new one. Save-a-pet has a mission to do it’s very best to trap and neuter domestic cats that have found their way to  local farms and green spaces.
Recently we have been approached by people living in neighboring municipalities to help. Most specifically we are reaching out though GoFundMe to support an elderly  neighbor couple whom through the very gentlest of hearts have been completely taken advantage of. As a rural hobby farmer this couple have found cats dumped on or near their property. As they are so very kind they have fed and loved these cats, but as cats will do these few cats have multiplied to over 50. This incredible couple continue to love and feed these felines, naming and knowing each ones story. These cats are so well cared for that when we take them to be neutered, the organizations we work with have kept the cats and found them homes! They are such friendly and loving cats, not at all feral like many other cats we help. So far we have homes 29+ kittens and approximately 7 adult cats have been rehoused. Still lots to go to consider this situation manageable. The expense of neutering is beyond that of an everyday expense. We are asking for donations so that we can directly fund the Spey/neuter of the adult cats thus reducing their procreation.

Programs such as ours are few and far between and word is out that Save-a-Pet will help. Many of the felines we encounter are used to the wilder side of life and are not suitable for a home situation. We work with kind people, who have the space and time to feed and care for these cats With supportive volunteers we bring kittens in and handle them so that they are ready for homes but adults rarely rehabilitate to indoor living so well. Instead these cats are welcomed back to their original wilder locations, with open arms and full bowels.
We hope that next year we will have less kittens to home due to a successful Spey/neuter program.

We can only be successful with some financial support. We need a boost to our coffers to be able to really attack this over population problem in our community.
Save-a-Pet thanks you for any donation you may be able to spare.
