Gavin's Health Care Support

My son Gavin has a severe case of scoliosis and is undergoing multiple surgeries on his back in order to correct the issue. This would typically be covered under state medical which he has but due to a genetic condition he has he requires additional time in the hospital and additional staff in the operating room with him. We have just been notified that the amount we are going to be responsible for from here on out is roughly 10,000 per surgery. Which means 20,000 per year for us.

We are working with Children's Hospital for some financial assistance but we have been told they cannot help with all of it. So what we are trying to do is raise some extra money to go to the extra costs for my son's surgeries and any additional medical support he will be needing until we can get him onto social security disability.

So I am sure most of you are wondering exactly how we are planning on spending the money. The plan is to pay for additional insurance premiums for Gavin for 1 full year and to cover any additional costs that may come up outside of straight surgery costs. The additional costs are going to begin on his 4th surgery which is 6 to 7 months away. We are hoping to at least have the additional insurance within 3 months in order to have his preexisting conditions covered.
