Alex's face slashed open while protecting his dogs

As you may have heard on the news, this week Alex was walking in downtown Seattle with 2 of his dogs when they were attacked by a pit bull, he managed to save the dogs but the pit bulls owner then started to threaten him.

He tried to defend himself and get away but the second attacker pulled out a knife and slashed open Alex's face, hitting an artery.

 

He was rushed to the ER and under went immediate surgery to close the artery and stitch up the 5 inch slash from his ear to mouth.

He says it's his Joker scar but since he's only half as funny he only has it on one side.

Alex's face will need future surgery by specialists and he'll probably always carry a permanent reminder of what happened that day right on his face for all to see.

The biggest concern for his family now is medical costs to try fix his face.

Unfortunately he was previously hit by a car which has left him with some mobility issues and made it difficult to continue do his job full-time, which meant a lot of unpaid time off and they have already spent 1000s on hospital and medical bills.

 

He sees it as "one of those things" and that it could have been worse, if the knife had slashed his throat he probably would have bled out at the scene, but we wanted to try and help alleviate some of the stress the family is going through and will continue to go through by trying to help a little bit financially.

 

I know he wouldn't expect or ask others for help but if you're in a position to give anything I know they would be very grateful for the generosity.

Update: Alex had to go back to the ER for complications with the wound, he's ok though and back home trying to heal. He's now unable to talk or eat without his wounds bleeding and has to take multiple painkillers every few hours.

He's overwhelmed with all the love and support from people, from friends to strangers he wants to say thank you and hopes that he can make some good come out of this whole thing by making the city face the reality of what the area has become.
