On Wednesday, December 10, the Dodge Family discovered that the river behind their Bedford home was rising rapidly. It soon overtook their yard, and started flowing into the in-law suite in their basement--this suite was occupied by Marguerite's Daughter, Kim, and her two grandchildren, Marshall and Nicole.
As the day went on, the basement filled with water, destroying everything in it's wake. It was sewer backup, so everything is contaminated. They lost their clothes, their bedding, mattresses, and furniture. This includes the kids' toys, their Nintendo Wii, and all of their games, as well as some of their Christmas presents for this year.
Insurance will only cover a portion of the damage to the house and it won't replace their personal belongings. This all happened a few weeks before Christmas, so the family could use your help.
This holiday season, consider donating what you can-$50, $20, $5, to help ensure their Christmas is a good one.
