DNA has an exciting progressive and educational opportunity for you at our first annual DNA Breadwinner Party 2020. A panel discussion, vending and networking event for Detroit’s Black Entrepreneurs. Centered around the question of, “How to obtain and maintain a professional Black business while engaging with your community?” Taking place on August 22, 2020 from 2pm-5pm EST.
DNA’s goals are to enlighten the public about Black Owned Businesses in their community, build professionalism and networking skills among Black businesses, and propel voter registration with the help of the League of Women Voters Detroit.
Participants will receive community service hours, a tax write off for monetary donations, and DNA paraphernalia, as well as name recognition in media coverage, the opportunity to become a registered voter, the freedom to network using our business card drop and swap table, the chance to enter & win our Black Business Basket, and the opportunity to register your business with DNA Ngś Business Portal (NBP).
100% of the proceeds from this festivity will go towards the DNA Entrepreneurship Breadwinner Grant, which will be awarded on Labor Day, September 7, 2020. This grant is a community contribution to Black businesses located in the city of Detroit. The qualifications for grant applicants are to be a Black owned business that caters to the City of Detroit and a registered voter in Wayne County, Michigan. The breadwinner will be voted upon by Ngś Choice. Grant applications can be found on our website under the Programs page.
The funds raised for this event will go directly into the production of this event in its entirety.
