Save Little Anya

We adopted little Anya from a family in May, and a week and a half after we got her she started acting drunk, not eating or drinking, and had a hard time standing up.  We took her to the emergency vet and she had exploratory surgery, a plasma transfusion and multiple xrays and hospitalization.  They didn't find anything in surgery, but her liver was small, so they thought based on her symptoms she may have an intrahepatic liver shunt; a vein that is supposed to close upon birth and prevents blood circulation in the liver.  We then had to do an MRI to confirm, as well as switching her to a presciption low protein food her liver could handle.  She's been hospitalized for a distended belly, as she's had fluid building up in her abdomen and chest due to the low protein.  She also was diagnosed with a raging E.coli infection that resulted in constant urination.  She has excessive thirst and is on two antibiotics (one for her GI tract and one for the E.coli in her bladder), prilosec to prevent bleeding stomach ulcers and a laxative to prevent ammonia in her brain (which is what made her act so drunk in the beginning).  We've done the MRI, multiple ultrasounds, a CT Angiogram, several overnight hospital stays, and now we face the surgery that will give her a chance at a healthy life.  We are already depleted $6,000, and we are now looking at the $5-6,000 repair surgery.

She has been a huge hit at every veterinary hospital she has gone to, and is a sweet sweet pup who deserves all the chances! She's been sick pretty much her whole life and has been a trooper.
