Please help us get Joanne home

If you are reading this then firstly, thank you so very much from our whole family for being here. As some people may or may not be aware, our Mum and Dad have recently found themselves in a very difficult and heartbreaking situation. Anyone who knows Joanne will know what a bubbly, compassionate and loving person she can be, but unfortunately at the moment, that isn't quite the case. On the 14th of June 2020 she suffered a severe stroke and a brain aneurysm whilst stuck in Bulgaria due to the current pandemic. She no longer has use to the whole left side of her body and has been left brain damaged, unable to care for herself in any way.  Currently our dad, who is also epileptic, is taking care of her alone as there is no aftercare available. This simply can not continue.

Since flying is not an option at this point, the plan is to transport her home to the UK by driving her, but this comes at great cost. Joanne and David are desperate to get home and be with their family so they can both get the emotional and physical support that they so greatly need. 

The reason we are here today asking for any financial support is to pay for a wide range of things such as: Vehicle hire with wheelchair access, fuel cost, multiple people to drive the hire vehicle, medication, hospital bills, lifts and assists for moving Joanne and anything she may need on her road to recovery. The expense of all of these things is EXTREMELY high and there will be much more to come no doubt. Anything anyone can do to help is appreciated beyond belief, not just financially but emotionally and physically too.

We hope that with the help of this campaign that Joanne can come home and be the mother, wife, grandmother and friend that she once was.
