Fulton County Ohio veteran Jacob Sattler, 38 years old, needs our help. Jacob has lived the last four years with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) , which has drastically changed the quality of his life. Jacob suffered a stroke after surgery to remove a tumor which rested on his pituary gland. Jacob and his wife Amanda, as well as his extended family, have fought valiantly to support and aid in Jacob'srecovery with the hope of his returning to a full, and productive life. They need our help. Paula Walter's , former Fulton County resident, and TBI sufferer shared her TBI journey with Jacob and Amanda, and the very successful treatment facility she discovered that changed her life. The Functional Neurology Center located in Minnetonka, Minnesota houses state-of-the-art rehabilitation services, personalized neuro-recovery programs ans they offer hope for those suffering from brain Injuries. Clients from all over the world travel to this facility for treatment, and many of their clients are professional athletes dealing with sports related brain injuries. Clients are evaluated, accepted into the program (if the center believes they can sucessfully treat the individual) and then enroll the client in the program. Clients stay anywhere from 7 to 14 days as a medical team conduct individual research, rehab evaluations and a treatment plan based on the clients individual physical, mental, nutritional, psychological and brain make-up. Each clients treatment is created specifically for them based on their own personal assessment of the client and the areas of the brain that are affected. The good news is Jacob has been accepted as a client, however; insurance will not cover the treatment and neither Jacob nor Amanda are in a position to pay the fees and cost of travel and accomodations for the 8 days they will be in Minnesota. Their parents and Paula will be accompanying them on this life changing trip. They are scheduled to leave this year on Easter Sunday. Our team has two months to raise the $20,000 needed to make this happen.
