I was called out by my friend, RaNae Candia of Dallas, TX, to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Please see my video at Thom Jareczek's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. If you cannot watch the entire 2:42, Please watch the final 50 seconds. I hope you will be entertained.

In accepting my challenge, I pledged $1 to the ALS Association for every "Like" I received on Facebook before midnight on August 19, 2014. I hoped people would find my video entertaining and informative. The video has been unexpectedly "shared" more than 4,800 times. In the first 27 hours, I receive 9,229 "Likes" before the deadline.

To date, the video has been "Liked" by more than 15,300 Facebookers. I am thrilled the video connected with so many of you. The sincerety of the posted comments was moving and encouraged me to keep the post up even when it became apparent my expectations would be greatly exceeded.

In Allen, TX, the honor system is alive and well. I will honor my $1 per "Like" commitment, but I am asking for your help. In addition to my $1,000 contribution, I will raise the balance with a target date of November 8, 2014. Regardless of the source, it will be $9,229 that may not otherwise have made its way to the ALS Association.
