Team Bella Bocce Won the USA National Women's Bocce Team Championship held in Round Lake, Illinois in 2012 against all Womens teams from other states and were previously scheduled to represent the USA in Brazil, Oct of 2013. However the World Tounament was canceled due to economic strife. China has acquired the right to have the International World tournament in Kaihua, Zhejiang China and the team is invited to represent the United States against all other countries in Oct 2014. Getting to China is not cheap. The goal was set to help fund the cost of plane tickets for the team.
The World game of Bocce is Punto Raffa Volo. It differs from the normal backyard type of bocce you see in the USA. It has much more skill, Strategy and competition. The game has a stringent set of rules and a referee who will enforce the rules marking all played balls and making sure all players and coaches are following the rules. The team picture is from left to right: Colleen Randazzo (Martinez, CA), Lydia Romo (Antioch, CA), Jo Ann Jacobs (Stockton, CA), Laura de la Rosa (Elk grove, CA) and coach Manny Romo (Antioch, CA) in back.
