Dixie Chicken Roof Repair

Donation protected
**The Dixie Chicken has started an official GoFundMe. Follow this link to access their campaign: https://www.gofundme.com/f/dixie-chicken-strong?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link-tip&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet.

In order to combine efforts and resources, we have stopped allowing donations to our GoFundMe. We have already been in contact with the owners and their attorneys to ensure the funds we have raised go to the Dixie Chicken official page. Thank you so much for your love and admiration for an incredible College Station establishment!

In the severe thunderstorms that rolled through the Brazos Valley on May 27, 2020, the Dixie Chicken, the beloved and revered establishment that is a pillar of the Texas A&M community, suffered major roof damage. The roof on the southeast side (directly above the rattlesnake room) caved in, resulting in severe water damage as well.

We all know what a difficult time it has been for businesses over the last few months due to the impacts of COVID-19. The Dixie Chicken has been no exception. With months of closed doors and the inability to bring in revenue at the normal rate, this catastrophic event only adds to that financial burden.

Whether it is through an old army ring dunk, a game of 42 with your closest friends, or carving a name in the wooden tables where we enjoy our food, we take pride in the history of the Dixie Chicken.

This is a student-led initiative to serve an Aggieland Institution. We are asking for your donation to help our Aggies in a time of need. We know the Aggie Network will joyfully rally to this cause.

Please share this link with anyone who would be interested in donating.

* We are a group of current Texas A&M students in College Station, Texas, that are interested in assisting in any way we can. We have made contact with the Dixie Chicken owners, and will withdraw and donate all funds to them once we reach our goal. The funds we donate will go directly to help the roof repair.  Any unused funds will be donated to the Texas A&M Foundation or The Association of Former Students. *
