Diving course for kelp forest and reef plant study

Introduction:
I am Bikram Bahadur Singh, a bachelor's student majoring in Earth and Environmental Science at Jacobs University Bremen, Bremen Germany. Originally, I am from Nepal. Currently, I am in the second years of my studies and working for the protection and conservation of our environment. I get an opportunity to work with marine biologists at Cape RADD (Research and Diver Development) in Cape Town, South Africa this summer. I only have few months left.
I am very interested in working for marine research field. I assure that the money will be used for paying my Scuba diving course, which also includes my travel expenses, Fooding, Housing, and bear the expenses for any equipments I need during my training course in Cape Town. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for me to develop as a Scuba diver, freediver, field biologist, conservationist, and to broaden my horizons as a wildlife enthusiast.

About the Cape RADD:
Cape RADD is a marine field station that serves as a platform for researchers in the Cape Town and False Bay area. It specialises in long-term projects that serve to monitor the biodiversity of a global hotspot with more than 3500 endemic marine species. Their research includes assessing the success of different management strategies in Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), monitoring the diversity and abundance of marine species, white shark population estimates, shark deterrent strategies, and some large-scale citizen science programs. Their research utilises various techniques including Baited Remote Underwater Video (BRUV), SCUBA roving divers, line transects, quadrats, photoquadrats and dropcams, mark-recapture, and other novel techniques. At the core of their values is passing on our expertise to early career scientists and those with a passion for the ocean.

Why Cape RADD:
The Cape RAAD would provide an ideal opportunity to work with the real scientists and larn on how a changing climate and anthropogenic activities associated with the global warming is affecting the kelp forest ecosystems. I would be able to explore more about the importance of these forests globally on site after my diving training. I will be able to get an insight on density distribution along the shores of South Africa. I would gain self-confidence, and hand-full practical experience with an exciting, dynamic, and international environment for my personal progress. This is the very first stage to enter the marine field and don't want to miss this opportunity.
