Disabled horsewoman needs help
A life long horsewoman in Washington state was horribly injured in July of 2015, when a neighbor decided to target shoot with his gun. The young animal, mom was riding was only 12 rides into training. The repetitive gun noise spooked her, and she bolted towards the enclosure fence. Mom chose to do an emergency dismount but was too close to the fence and was catapulted head first into a 4 X 4 post.
This resulted in an incomplete central cord injury to her spine.
The accident resulted in paralysis which persisted into her 3rd month of recovery.
She is able to walk now but with a bad limp, nerve pain, and loss of her dominant right hand, due to contracted tendons. She will continue to have a lifetime of health problems associated with this accident.
Mom's life has been horses, since a girl growing up with working ranch horses, to the equestrian business she operated up to her accident.
She has taught her horsemanship skills, throughout her life, to other equine enthusiasts and clubs, 4-H, and United States Pony Club members.
Mom has faced many challenges, while recovering from this severe injury, all the while keeping her three loved horses, that inspire her to keep going every day.
She is in need of help, and I would like to encourage all of her friends, family, and supporters, to share this request, let's help her to meet this goal. Any donation is helpful, and deeply appreciated!
Mom has been accepted to train, as a participant, with Frederic Pignon (trainer of the Cavalia shows), his wife Magali Delgado, and life coach Barbara Alexander, for the dates of March 2-6, 2018.
This clinic will be life changing for her, and help to enter into a new chapter of her life with horses.
The clinic fee is needed for her participation, and for four auditor fees for her strongest supporters who have helped her throughout this journey.
Mom has not been able to get disability financial support, the neighbor denied gun shooting, and she is not able to be employed due to her challenges physically, so help is needed to make this dream a reality.
