Hearing these heart-warming responses has driven us to start Express Yourself Project, a registered not for profit organisation that encourages and supports people to get involved in Music and Art.
Through our experience working with vulnerable people, we have recognised a serious need for supported creative programs. Ask yourself what the world would be like without art and music. Creativity is a vehicle for connection. It is a voice. A means of expression.
We have spent the last year trialling and developing a program that everyone can participate in. Our art and music program is tailored to meet the needs, interests and abilities of people wanting to express themselves through creativity. Ensuring sessions are of adequate length, and with appropriate, adaptive equipment, allows participants the time to complete activities with the fulfilment they deserve.
To provide these services the not-for-profit runs entirely on donations so we have started a GOFUNDME to help the program grow.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
A small donation will go toward launching this Art and Music project by helping us purchase adaptive equipment, materials, and hiring a space to run our program. Hopefully, if we can raise enough funds, we can facilitate the program in more than one region.
