DIP & DONATE for the Aussie Bushfires
Tax deductible
Australia is burning. Come and join us for a Cold Water Dip in Lac Leman, Nyon and DONATE to help raise much needed funds for the victims of the Australian Bushfires. You can just dip a toe, or your whole body, or if you're not keen on getting in in lake at around 6 degrees just come down and cheer the rest of us on! And DONATE. Please. The more people we can get down to the lake, the more money we can send to those who have lost their homes, loved ones and livelihoods.

DIP & DONATE
AUSTRALIA DAY – SUNDAY JANUARY 26th
13:00
Nyon Plage
> Come in fancy dress... There will be a prize for the best dressed.
> Bring a thermos of hot tea/coffee/chocolate to warm up after
> Bring a plate to share if you like! (Lamingtons, etc all welcome!)
................................
The Australian Bushfires have burned an estimated 8.4 million hectares (that's double the size of Switzerland), destroyed over 2,500 buildings (including over 1,900 houses) and killed 25 people. The University of Sydney estimated 480 million mammals, birds, and reptiles were lost since September with concerns entire species of plants and animals may have been wiped out by bushfires.
All funds will be donated to the Salvation Army. Like other organizations, the Salvation Army advises donors to send money instead of goods because of the logistical difficulties of storing and distributing goods in areas affected by disasters. Donations are funneled to various forms of assistance, including mental health support and housing.
