Dillon Gautier - A beautiful soul now gone.

First, let me thank you for taking the time to read this gofundme and for your generosity of spirit for considering helping anyone regardless of who that might be.

GoFundMe suggests you introduce yourself so I’m Becky Kennedy. More important is why I’m writing this.

On February 14, 2024, Dillon wasn’t feeling well so he went to the emergency department. They discovered he had a severe infection. While they were trying to locate the origin, he went into septic shock resulting in an MI. His blood pressure dropped and he coded three times. The hospital staff saved him, but he developed a pulmonary embolism (PE) and his kidneys and liver shut down. He went from talking on his own to being on a vent in ICU. His fiancée, Morgan, never left his side. She held his hand constantly because if she let go, his blood pressure immediately started to drop again. She was his person every bit as much as he was hers.

The hospital staff were amazing. They fought for him alongside Morgan. They fought as hard as they could and then they fought some more. Unfortunately, Dillon lost that fight on February 15, 2024, leaving Morgan simply…leveled. Dillon was 31.

Morgan and Dillon have been through a lot recently including Dillon losing a job he loved a few weeks ago. That means there’s no income and no insurance. I can’t bring Dillon back for her. I can’t take away her pain, her grief. I can’t make this awful road any smoother or shorter. But my hope in creating this GoFundme is simply to try to ease some of the stress in one area of her life so she can focus on the rest of her journey with a little less static.

I guess my request here is twofold: 1-If you feel so moved, please consider donating whatever amount you are most comfortable; and 2-If you donate and include a note of encouragement, I will print those notes and make sure she gets them. Anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one knows that the hugs and kind words are plentiful in the beginning, but sometimes those notes and cards are what get you through when everyone else has gone back to their own lives and you’re sitting alone wondering how you’re going to make it through to the next day.
