Digby’s fundraiser for Epilepsy action
Hi everyone,
I am raising money for Epilepsy Research Uk by running 87 miles (140km) in 26 days starting on the first of March finishing on the 26th March which is international Epilepsy day (Purple day). The reason I am running this distance is on average 87 people are diagnosed with Epilepsy in the UK every day.
My mum Fiona MacLeod Pinsent, was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 1996 after having a seizure at home. The cause of the epilepsy was due to a Arteriovenous malformation. This was resolved by an operation on my mothers brain but unfortunately the epilepsy never stopped. She now has uncontrollable epilepsy as they no longer know the cause, they can’t control it with medication or operations however she does take medication in an attempt to lower the symptoms. Despite all of this she has still raised 4 children and helped run several companies with my father for a number of years.
Unfortunately she has suffered for many years and has secondary conditions as a result of the epilepsy. I don’t wish for anyone to go through what she has been through. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Digby R M Pinsent
