Diana's Fight to Heal

Donation protected
As many of you know, Diana was med-flighted to Boston Medical Center shortly after noon time on Wednesday June 7th after falling down a flight of stairs. She has undergone emergency surgery to relieve pressure on the brain from the trauma and is in the ICU in a non-induced coma. We do not know the fulll extent of her injuries. Thank you so vey much for your well wishes and support.
Update SundayJune 11th from Diana's daughter Alison:
Yesterday around 2:00 PM, mom had to undergo a second surgery to help alleviate some pressure in her brain. The surgery went well, and no complications arose during. This morning, her brain was monitored for any changes.
From my understanding, her brain has effectively re-positioned itself, and therefore the pressure has been somewhat alleviated. She is stable, and she is still fighting hard. While she had a bit of regression when it comes to recognizing pain in a localized sense, she is still showing improvements from day one. Now we are still waiting to make sure the swelling of her brain keeps decreasing.

This has been an unimaginably hard time, but mom remains at the forefront of our thoughts and actions. She has beaten the odds so far, and she is in the most capable hands here at Boston Medical. I know I as her daughter am so confident in the staff here. The exchange and flow of information is a constant, and no question we have goes unanswered. We have been allowed to be with mom at almost every step of her recovery here, and I am so grateful for that. Since her arrival, she has had a loved-one around at every possible second (except for surgery of course). So many people have reached out to me and my family during this time, and everyone has been so incredibly helpful. I wish I could thank everyone individually, but I'd like to quickly mention Kirsten Stern, Kathie Manning, and Maribeth Hersey, who between three of them have kept watch over mom while I have had to take of care of business back home and here at the hospital as well. However I will reiterate, every single one of you has been a blessing, and any sort of encouraging message, offer to help, or well-wish has been invaluable and so uplifting. I couldn't do this without all of my family, mom's plethora of friends, or even the individuals who have never met either of us.

Mom has an army of love coming at her from hundreds of people, and none of it is going unnoticed.

One day at a time.
