Diagnostics & Treatment for Mazzy

Mazzy is currently in need of multiple diagnostics to figure out what exactly is causing her to have violent, shaking & paralyzing episodes so we are able to give her the treatment she needs.

Mazzy has recently suffered what we originally thought was a seizure. It was one of the scariest and most helpless feelings watching a dog that you have loved and care for shake violently on the ground paralyzed, crying out in pain and looking up at you like you should be able to make it stop. After spending the day at two different animal hospitals Mazzy was stabilized however no one was able to tell us what was going on with her or how to help her. Since Mazzy was lucid during the incident the doctors don’t think its likely that what she experienced was a seizure. They’re best bet is that it’s something in her spine or something neurological.

Unfortunately, the pet insurance we signed up for a week before the incident has a two week waiting period and is not valid as whatever this is, is now considered a “pre-existing condition”. This means we are paying for all of these tests 100% out of pocket. As I’m sure many of you know vet bills are exetremly unforgiving and high. We want to give Mazzy the best bet at recovering from this and in order to do that, need to do as many diagnostic tests as we need to util we get to the bottom of it.
