Meet The Newberry's...

Matt, Shawna, & Dylan:

Oh, and you cannot forget the four-leggeds, Clifford:
This is one of those family's you might know, the kind of family who gives of their time, treasure, and talent freely but in times of their greatest need, are the last to ask for help.

The Newberry's are a part of my extended family. My partner in crime, Todd Jones, introduced me to these incredible folks about seven years ago.  I am grateful to share my life with them.

Recently, The Newberry's experienced some  "life on life's terms" and I felt compelled to share their story with you to see if you would help me help them secure their comfort and health.

All in one week, their power steering went out in one of their vehicles. This same vehicle they lent to Todd and me when I found myself without a car not once, but twice in the same year.

Then, Shawna's insulin pump quit working right after the warranty expired. Since it is the beginning of a new year, her out-of-pocket expense restarted and in order to get a new pump, she has to meet a $2000 deductible. Luckily, the company who manufacturers her pump gave her a loaner, but only for 90-days.

Shawna:

A recent post by Shawna:

"I've been having a pity party for myself lately. My insulin pump quit working right after the warranty expired and my deductible started over for the year. The power steering went out on the car. It looks like another year without a vacation. But... But...I have this amazing husband who can fix things like power steering. Just trying to remind myself just how lucky I am!!!!!"

Shawna is the first person to raise money for a cause. She participates in the JDRF Walk To Cure Diabetes every year and raises as much money as she can to donate to the research and treatment efforts.

Both Matt and Shawna work full-time jobs to support their family. Shawna is also a photographer and does great work and charges a minimal cost to her clients to help supplement their financial responsibilities.

Unexpected expenses never come at a good time. No matter how prepared we are for emergency situations, there are always sacrifices to be made.

Shawna has no idea that I am pulling this together in this arena. It would mean the world to me to help these guys cover some pretty urgent health needs, but I simply cannot do it alone.

Will you consider a gift of any amount to help Shawna reach her deductible?

Many thanks in advance to those of you who are willing and able to contribute.

Hugs!!
