Destination Imagination Global Finals Funding

Dear friends, family and supporters,

We are thrilled to share that our DI team, “The Master Pies” earned 1st Place in the Destination Imagination Fine Arts Challenge for Mexico! This hard won achievement earned us an invitation to compete at the Global Finals in Kansas City in May. Attending the Global Finals in Kansas City is not just a competition for us; it’s an opportunity for personal growth, unforgettable experiences and lifelong lessons.

This next stage of our DI journey is all about fundraising in order to help cover the $5,000 entrance fee plus transportation, hotel accommodations and meals. We invite you to join us on this journey by supporting our fundraising efforts. In addition to our on-the-ground efforts like selling snacks and beverages at school events, every contribution made here, no matter how small, will bring us closer to our goal and enable us to represent our community on a global stage.

Our Performance:

We created a theatrical performance inspired by Banksy’s “Girl with a Balloon” mural. We created the story concept, plot and resolution, wrote the script, developed the choreography and characters, made the costumes, built a painting robot, worked as a team, problem solved and had fun!

What is Destination Imagination?

In Destination Imagination (DI), students work together in teams to solve open-ended STEAM challenges designed to teach the creative process from imagination to innovation. This process allows for kids to learn vital life skills, public speaking and collaborative problem solving. Destination Imagination fosters crucial skills such as creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and public speaking, empowering students to become innovative thinkers and leaders of tomorrow. Each May, DI’s top-tier teams from around the world gather in Kansas City, Missouri, to participate in Global Finals - the world’s largest celebration of creativity.
