Family Car

Wayne and his sons, Menelik (5) and Ras (7), are making big waves in Barbados. As you have seen through their inspiring Facebook photos, Wayne gets the boys to the ocean every day, ensuring they develop the skill, discipline and love for surfing necessary to make them successful and internationally-known athletes! We all have seen what these boys can do, and we know that what they want is very much a dream that can come true.
What we don't see every day is that this family has to walk very far to get to the ocean. Five towns they walk through: Watton, Gall Hill, Oistins, Kiezer Hill and Enterprise, taking them at least 45 minutes to get to the closest beach. If the waves aren't big enough, they have to walk even farther. When there are no waves, they can't surf. They have to walk back home after practice as well.
Wayne and the boys are in need of a car. They cannot keep up with the physical demands of the sport and the struggle getting to and from practice every day. Wayne makes a modest living as a vendor and is dedicating his life to ensuring the boys get an education and become the best surfers in Barbados. We are hoping that you, along with the other friends they have made in person and through this online community, would be willing to help.
We are trying to raise $3,500USD - this would pay for a reliable, used car, and we'll also have to keep in mind that the boys need car seats, and Wayne will need insurance and money for gas.
