Medical Travel Expenses 4 Jan

My bestfriend of 26 years and a friend loved by many, Jan Stephens Harris of Navarre, FL has been fighting breast cancer for over two years. She just got the results yesterday of her most recent PET scan which showed the cancer that had metastasized to her pelvic bones earlier this year has returned since her last scan. She now has to undergo 20 more rounds of radiation and has to take low dose chemo for the rest of her life. She is scheduled to have an MRI of her brain this upcoming week to rule out METS to the brain due to severe headaches daily. Jan developed lympodema very badly in her arm where her lympth nodes were removed because the cancer had spread to the nodes of her arm. She has been traveing to MD Anderson in Houston for surgeries due to this condition. She is scheduled to have another two surgeries in November and will have to be there for two weeks. Jan is worried about the cost of the trip and where the funds will come from. Since she has to take chemo the rest of her life she has the expense every year of having to meet her deductible before the insurance pays fully. Her insurance does not cover her travel, food or room at the hospital housing center where she has to stay between surgeries. Jan's Dream which was to spread the word about breast cancer to others in hopes of saving lives, inspired the creation of the group Pink Pirates of Navarre. We raise funds for mammograms and offer support to women and men once diagnosed or that have a family member they are caring for with breast cancer. Jan has met with and advised several women over the past year. She does so much for others that I would like for us to be able to do something for her. She should not have to be worrying about where funds will come from for her surgical travels. Please won't you give Jan what she has given others; Relief from her worries through your support?
