Devastating fire destroyed Horace Almony's home

In the early morning hours of July 25th, a devastating fire ripped through Horace Almony's home. He was awakened by his faithful dog, Molly, and both made it safely outside.

In the rush to get to safety Horace didn't stop to grab a single thing. Sometimes you'll hear people say they made it out with the clothes on their back, and that's quite literally what happened here. No shoes, no wallet or grabbing sentimental things. Everything is a total loss.

Horace is my grandfather, and this has been his home for the past 60+ years. He and my late Grandmother bought the home right after they got married and have lived there ever since. They raised their family here and he's helped countless in the area. If you've ever driven past, I'm sure you've seen him sitting out on the porch in his chair and throwing you a wave.

He is a man of few words and would never ask for help, but he needs it now more than ever.
