Devastating fire at animal rescue

I am asking for help for our nonprofit organization Nebraska Loves Cats. There was a devastating fire in the middle of the night and the house is destroyed. Co-founder Michelle was able to escape with a few cats. It is heartbreaking to report that many cats did not survive. We are praying that other missing cats got out on their own but at this time we have not found them. We are fundraising to support NLC, to get treatment for the surviving cats that experienced burns, and to help us rebuild.

2 kitties are receiving vet care
We would like to thank all of you for your support as we are so close to our goal for vet bills for the two burned kitties. We have been comforted by your kind words and support through this terribly emotional ordeal.
When everything happened on Friday, we weren't sure what our next steps would be for Nebraska Loves Cats. Many of you have sent messages encouraging us to continue our work to rescue, trap spay/neuter, provide food, water, warmth, vet treatments, adoptions, and love for our stray, feral, and otherwise unowned kittens and cats from our community. We have decided we cannot turn our backs on these furbabies and will continue with our mission.
With that said, we will increase our goal to include rebuilding our facility. We will need to replace everything, while still caring for the surviving kittens and cats.
We also wanted to let everyone know we have been gaining local and national media attention. We are very appreciative to be able to tell our story. We have our story of the fire to tell, the struggles we have faced in our town of Chappell Nebraska, and many success stories to share. Please continue to follow us and share our story!

Nebraska Loves Cats founder Michelle Tynan is not only a cat rescuer, she is also a talented artist.
She has used her passion for painting to help support her passion for saving as many kittens and cats as possible.
Her paintings and supplies were also lost in the horrible fire. She finds peace and healing when she paints and she would like to be able to share her passion with you.
Her paintings are made to order and we would like to use the funds to invest in a reliable truck, van, or rv so we will be able to travel to cat/art shows to spread our mission of cat rescue. A reliable vehicle will also help us get kitties to veterinary treatment as we dont have emergency services in Chappell, so when the kitties need emergency services we take the long drive to make sure they receive the best care possible.
