Raid Amazones Fundraiser - Devas
Donation protected
Raid Amazones is a French Sporting Event that takes place every year, with purpose of raising the profile on female empowerment and children's rights.
For the second time, Les Devas will participitate to this event that will take place in October 2019 in DaNang, Vietnam.
And so here we are, 3 women - TEAM 101 - from all walks of life but with one common thread- our love for Cambodia. Be it working/ living in or visiting the country over the years, we were all brought together for our love for this Kingdom and a mutual passion to contribute to Cambodian society.
In one team of 3, we are the "DEVAS" from Cambodia, Malaysia and Thailand, coming together after months of training to support each other to the finish line competing in adverse tropical jungle conditions:
★ RUN & BIKE
★ CANOEING
★ TRAIL RUNNING
★ ORIENTATION COURSE
★ ARCHERY SHOOTING CHALLENGE
★ RAFT BUILDING ETC
Our goal- raise awareness and funds of children in needs and help rehabilitate and reintegrate children with intellectual disabilities into Cambodian society. We carefully selected this charity that mean a lot to us:
The Rabbit School Cambodia:
The Rabbit School Cambodia has been working with children with intellectual disabilities in Cambodia for over 20 years. They promote the rights of Children with Intellectual Disabilities, as they believe that they have the same fundamental rights as their fellow citizens to a decent life, with equal dignity and access to education, whatever the origin, nature, or severity of their impairments.
“Know me for my abilities, not my disability.” Robert M. Hensel
Children's rights around the world are important indicators to understand global well-being.
Intellectual disability is a term used for people that learn things at a slower rate. Other descriptions include learning difficulty and special needs. People with intellectual disabilities may display different behaviour to other people or children of their age, but they can learn many things. It just takes them more time and effort than others. They may take longer to learn to speak, walk and take care of their personal needs, such as dressing or eating. They are also likely to have trouble learning in school…but it is important to remember that they can learn.
Just remember, everybody has certain strengths and weaknesses. This is the same for people with intellectual disabilities.
We are very happy to support this year this school. We have amazing team spirit and need one more team member to support our efforts, that's why we need YOU.
By joining hands with us, you not only give the opportunity to many children with disabilities to get the chance to strengthen their education program, you are also creating societal change for a better Cambodia.
We would love for you to join our journey and consider to make a donation to reach our goal to raise $10,000 for this school in any way possible.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
