STOP the Destruction of Black Owned Businesses!

 
Vibes is an arts driven, small business located in Salisbury, North Carolina.  Since opening in late 2019, Vibes has served Rowan and surrounding communities by providing inclusive programmings for local artists, event space, access to art materials for low income communities and more.  Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have sewn countless face masks and visors for essential workers, provided art materials to children in the community without access to school supplies and most recently, served as a place of love, safety and education for the black community during the rise of BLM protests and building tensions surrounding Salisbury's confederate monument.

On Monday, July 6th 2020, the same night that the infamous confederate monument was removed from it's center city location, Vibes was vandalized and a rock was thrown through the front window of the store.  Because Vibes has not been able to operate due to COVID-19, this presents a tremendous financial challenge for the business.  Additionally, the team out Vibes now questions their personal safety as the timing of this vandalism feels very personal and intentional.  The owner of Vibes is hearing impaired and could have easily been injured during this or other efforts to vandalize the store.  The goal of this GoFundMe is to replace the large broken window and to install security cameras to hopefully prevent this from happening in the future.  Please help this emerging black owned business to make the needed repairs and to continue to grow and flourish!
