Destination Imagination 2023 Globals

The Indian Creek Middle School Destination Imagination team is looking to raise the funds to attend Globals in May 2023. On April 1st 2023, they attended the state competition placing 1st and winning a DiVinci Award for creativity for their spaceship prop. The girls would love the opportunity to attend Globals but need your help getting there. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

If I know one thing about these kids, it's that NONE of them listen to the word no. Fun fact: this will be the third time these girls will have been let down unless somehow they can gather the funds needed to attend.

Back in March of 2020, the kids were preparing to travel to Miamisburg for their first State competition. Then, Covid hit and the event was cancelled. After the 2021 competition was also cancelled, the group made the decision to switch categories to the Service Learning Group, a category which REQUIRES the group to help the community.

Over the last 2 years, these girls have worked in the community to earn money to create Care Packages, which have been distributed to the Teramana Cancer Center. These baskets have included warm socks, hats, blankets, puzzles, and other items to help make the day slightly better for those undergoing cancer treatments.

Last year, after the girls created these packages, they traveled to Centerville to compete in the state competition, in which they placed 2nd, earning them an invite to the Global Competition. Unfortunately, due to budget issues, they weren't able to cover the entry fee, and thus their year was cut short. But they kept at it... and this year, they brought home 1st place in the state of Ohio.

I've worked with these girls over the last several years and can honestly say this is truly a special bunch. They've dedicated countless hours to chasing this dream, and I'd truly hate to be forced to tell them no once again. Please, please help this group carry on and achieve their goals. Your support could make a world of difference for these determined young individuals.
