Dear Friends and Family of Destination 1905
Our first year has had its ups and downs, right now we are in a bit of a downer, all things considered we can say for all small businesses that we all are in pickle and not one of those nice gherkins that might come on a fancy cheese board. In saying this, all "small" businesses have been seriously impacted by COVID-19, it has caused us and many neighbors to shut our doors to the public in order to flatten the curve and encourage social distancing.
While Destination 1905 hasn't been open long, just over a year in fact, we quickly became a community meeting place where neighbors and friends would gather to have a good time. We also have supported the local soccer team and small businesses within our business by hosting Detroit based pop-ups like Geisha Girls Detroit, Bella Soulz, Dr. Sushi, Cocina GTO, and many others.
On Monday, March 16th we made the tough decision to close our doors just hours before the governor asked all non-essential businesses to close their doors to the public. So right now we are asking for your help. Danielle and Chase, the face and backbone of Destination, are essentially out of a job until further notice. The optimistic date of reopen will be April 15th, which doesn't seem likely, will put them a month behind what they would normally earn as income. Working in the industry most service employees depend on tips to support themselves. If you are able to donate, please do. We know we that a lot of others are in the same boat but we hope that your kindness will be able to reach us all the way here in West Village.
If you are unable to help us out, please consider helping out your own community's local businesses. We're all in this together.
We hope to see you soon,
Destination 1905
