Desperate Need for Dialysis

Hello Friends!

 

My name is Natasha, and I am organizing a critical medical fundraiser for my cousin, Jason, who lives in rural Jamaica. A week ago, Jason started swelling and vomiting incessantly. His family rushed him to the hospital in St. Thomas, where he lives. He discovered that his kidneys are at a level 5 - completely inoperable without mechanical help - and he will need dialysis immediately and consistently.

 

Jason was initially catheterized and dialyzed at the only trauma hospital on the island. But that hospital neither has the equipment nor availability to meet the needs of all trauma and poor patients that come in. Meaning he cannot go there regularly to receive treatment. Jason’s situation is not short-term. He will need dialysis for the remainder of his life. To live, he needs dialysis three times per week.

 

Unfortunately, none of the hospitals or clinics on the island provide dialysis for the poor and disenfranchised for free. He DESPERATELY needs the help of anyone able to help him get to a private clinic located about 2 hours away from his home. All funds collected will be exclusively distributed for Jason's care. Please help however you can; every dollar will make a difference. He is in DIRE need. We sincerely appreciate your gifts towards the continuance of Jason’s life and wellbeing!!
