Desiree Ortega Assistance Fund

I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of Desiree Ortega, a friend that I have known since middle school. Desiree is a native Santa Fean who is in need of support from our community. In October of 2019 Desiree became unable to walk on her own and has had many health setbacks which doctors she has been diagnosed with conversion disorder with mixed symptoms in her case this is an extreme case where its left her disabled unable to walk on her own.  This is a message from Des, 
. “It has been very scary for me, but also to my kids. I am currently unable to work and my health changes daily. Some days I am able to get around with a walker, but most days I am in a wheelchair or bedridden. Asking for help has never been easy for me to do, but that is where I am. Below you will find areas of my life where I can use help.

*I need supplies Possibly donated Or whatever you can give to help pay for upgrades ADA approved around the house

*maybe someone that can give their time to build with their skills And materials donated to build a way to get in my backyard with a wheelchair so I can watch my kids outside as they play and redo my bathroom to make it accessible for me Especially for me on my physically  hard days

*Grab bars For all over my house for me to get safely around (sizes vary from 60 inch, 36 inch, x4 12 inch, x3 24 inch and 15 inch bars)

*Since I’ve been unable to work for the past two years I am playing catch-up on bills especially with the pandemic that happened A little goes a long ways in my family

Santa Fe is a small community and this mother of four needs our help. There are far too many resources for her to have to struggle on her own. Our goal is to raise $25K to help her with medical bills, lawyer fees, and most of all, get her support to equip her home to be 100% handicap accessible.
