Derik Hamonds passed away at the age of 31 due to complications from cancer. He has left an impact on all of us not only locally but world wide as well. Derik did things that people could only dream about doing. He traveled all over the world experiencing all that this world has to offer.
Derik attended Longfellow Elementary, Washington Jr. High, North High School, and Graduated from East High School in 2004. Derik served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years.
From those who grew up with him to those who casually knew him, there are all stories to be told about Derik. Derik was unique and unforgettable and has left a positive impression on all of us.
I grew up with Derik and have known his family since Derik and I were in elementary school. I saw him within the last few months of his life as he let me know he was sick, we did not expect him to pass. This loss is tragic and unexpected for everyone who has known him. I have spent the last day with Derik's family talking and reminiscing and can say first hand what wonderful people they are and how much they would apprieciate your help. We are looking to raise money for his funeral services to give him the proper service that he deserves.
