Deputy United States Marshal Paguga’s Mother

Donation protected
Deputy United States Marshal (DUSM) David Paguaga’s mother, Martha Johnson Moreno, is currently in a critical state fighting for her life. She has been diagnosed with Steven-Johnson Syndrome, causing her skin to blister and peel forming painful raw areas. It has been described as burning from the inside out. Recovery of this syndrome can take days or weeks. She urgently needs to be transferred to a hospital with a burn unit that also has Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and Internal Medicine specialists. Because certain resources are currently limited in Puerto Rico, her doctors are recommending to transfer her to Miami where she will have the resources needed in one place.

DUSM Paguaga will have to pay about $17,500 just for the air transfer, not including the additional medical costs that are being accrued for her treatment. The insurance will only be covering 80% of the costs.

I believe that in a time like this we have to be united and help a brother in need. If we all get together we can make a big difference in her recovery process and help them with the financial hardships they are about to face.

This is an important time to show support, compassion and maintain a high level of morale. Knowing that you have the support and motivation of your brothers and sisters in blue gives you a superior sense of pride Let’s show DUSM Paguga that he and his family are not alone in this journey and that we are here for them. He has shown his commitment to the United States Marshal Service, let’s show him our commitment to his mother’s recovery.
