Depression Treatment For Hannah

Hi, everybody. I'm Hannah.

My history with mental illness is a long and storied one — I have suffered from depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember, and have been prescribed five different antidepressants and two different anxiety medications, all to no avail. I am currently seeing a therapist, but my situation is dire, and at this point I need to supplement my therapy with medication in order to survive. I've long been interested in the use of ketamine therapy on patients with treatment-resistant depression, or patients who do not respond to typical antidepressants, but as it is not FDA-approved this treatment tends to be prohibitively expensive. I've found a clinic in Chicago that is able to partially bill insurance for services like IV insertion, but a course of treatment still costs approximately $1600 — $250 per session over a course of six sessions and two weeks, plus the cost of an initial consultation. 

This treatment would literally save my life. I struggle with suicidal feelings frequently, and my depression interferes with my ability to function in my daily life, preventing me from even taking measures that could make it more manageable.
