Dental hygiene mission to Ecuador

Hello! My name is Chelsea and I am a soon-to-be new graduate of Eastern Washinton University Department of Dental Hygiene in Washington state in May, which means I will be a legal Registered Dental Hygienist. I created this Go Fund Me because I am partnering with a charity called 'Care in the Chair' based out of WA state, and I am interested in representing and working for their charity as one of the lead hygienists during a mission trip to Ecuador June 27-July 7, 2018.
The charity is fairly new, starting 6 years ago by dental hygienists who wish to make a difference internationally in areas which otherwise would not have oral hygiene care or education brought to their region. The cause of this charity is to professionally educate children and adults about the importance of oral hygiene and how to maintain healthy mouths over time, as well as to provide teeth cleanings, assist with cavity and extraction procedures, as well as provide education as to what we are there to do and how we are there to serve.
The donations from this Go Fund Me will support me in purchasing a round-trip airline ticket, as well as pay a $400 travel expense fee. The mission trip itself is unpaid/volunteer, as the charity is a non-profit organization. Since I am a student now and will be a brand new graduate at the time of the trip, funding is key to my participation. I have a history of participating in dental hygiene outreach causes, as I traveled to Kodiak, Alaska last summer and helped to serve the Alutiq people of the island, an indigenous group which has inhabited the island since the 1800's. Even though this location was within the United States, the ruralness of the region and primitive lifestyles called for outreach care more than what I would have expected to see in a first world nation.
Funding for this trip to Ecuador would be needed sooner than later, as ticket prices are increasing daily. Overall, I would be directly working with this charity, volunteering directly for the creators of the charity and working professionally with all team members involved for the betterment of all patient treatment during this mission. It would be an honor to serve the people of Ecuador and to better their lives, one mouth at a time.
