Fundraiser For Dennis Lewis

As some of you may not know, on Aug. 4th I helped my brother move out of state to the midwest.

During the trip, on Aug. 7th, we received a call from our sister notifying us that our father had been rushed to the hospital.

My sister explained that he had been running errands along with my mother earlier that day and to make the long story short, lost his ability to move, was confused, and began slurring his words.

At that moment, I didn't know what to make of the situation except I was extremely worried and couldn't wait to get home to gain the extent of the situation.

When I finally arrived back in Fresno on Aug. 9th and into the hospital, my family and I discovered that my father had suffered several strokes. Of course it took all of us by surprise.

He lost mobility in his right side, which left him unable to use his right hand to practice his artwork which he's so passionate about.

This is completely overwhelming for him since he's been doing it for 40+ years as an enthusiast and a professional, and to say this is hard & crushing for him is an understatement.

He's been transferred to a skilled nursing facility where he's making efforts to regain his mobility through the help of physical therapists, and I'd like to give a positive report and say he's making tremendous progress, but progress has been very slow since he easily gets fatigued after his therapy sessions.

With the slow progress, my family and I have been discussing options in what to do since the insurance only covers the first 20 days of his therapy, and we concluded that he still needs further work with the physical therapists to make more progress. The first 20 days expires Aug. 31st.

We would like to give my father another 30 days but like most facilities, the price is high, costing $165/day. Therefore, I started a Go Fund Me campaign to help raise money for my father's care. He'll be able to work further with the physical therapists to help regain his mobility, and getting back to what he loves doing most.

His Art.

If you're able to show any support, it will be greatly appreciated and will NOT go unnoticed.

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers and we look forward to my father getting back on his feet.

Most Kindness Regards,

Christopher Lewis
