Dennis Sakamoto Surgery

Donation protected
On July 31st Dennis traveled to Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles, in hopes of receiving further treatment for the rapid heart beats he had encountered just months prior.

The first appointment was informative. He found out he was born with Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome, which means he has an additional chamber in his heart that an electrical current passes through and shouldn't.

Since then, he has had three procedures completed. The first being an angioplasty to ensure his blood vessels were free of blockage. Second, an electrophysiology to test the electrical activity of his heart and locate where the abnormal heart beats come from. His last was to implant a defibrillator to regulate his heart rhythm should it sense any irregularities.

Unfortunately, Dennis’ insurance does not cover any of the expenses for the implantation and care of the defibrillator. His surgery and hospital expenses amount to $25,000.00. This does not include the cost of the device, which is $13,000.00 alone.
The first follow up appointment will be $2.341.00.
Also, he will need the device to be assessed every 3 months.

From the family of Dennis, we thank you for your support and truly appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we continue to get him the medical care he needs.
