Dennis Litalien

In June of 2017 we received the life changing diagnosis, my father Dennis Litalien was told he had a Glioblastoma. This is an incurable brain tumor with less then 30% survival rate beyond 14months. My Dad had a complete resection of the tumor leaving him extremely weak and needing constant care. He has lost his ability to walk, he is incontinent and struggles with simple tasks. This requires constant care of home health aides. My mother can not care for him by herself. We are approaching 7months of this beast consuming his body. Resources are very limited and insurance does not cover any home health services. The cost is depleting my parents emergency funds. It cost roughly $6,000 monthly for home care. A facility would be just as costly and would require my parents to liquidate their assets. With no sign of the tumor returning. This has left my dad completely disabled. Care to keep him comfortable is all we can offer him. My dad was one of the first people to open his wallet and give anyone in need. He gave abundantly to those families who had cancer. Knowing first hand what it does to a family. His brother is a 10 year survivor and sadly he lost his sister at the young age of 17 to cancer. He is loved and respected by so many. Having a wonderful career of 38 years at Bath Iron Works that sadly ended due to an injury. The past few years have been a stressful time but nothing matching the last 7months. Please help me give my family some peace of mind. Our rock has been moved and our family is struggling. Please share and donate whatever you can. My goal is to give my dad one year of home health. Allowing him to stay with the love of his life, the family that he adores and that love HIM so very much. .
