> I am starting this Go Fund Me Page for my cousin, Dennis Fisher. He is more than a cousin....he is a father, son, uncle, nephew and friend to so many. He is a hard working, reliable, caring, onery, positive, full of life guy and a follower of God. He is a single father to three wonderful children and has pretty much raised them all by himself since they were little.

> On 6/8/17 Dennis was admitted to the hospital in Burlington, CO and the lab work was abnormal and confirmed he was anemic. He received 3 units of blood over the next couple of days. He was unable to eat and had lost approximately 50 pounds over an extended period of time. After a surgeon attempted to perform a colonoscopy, he was unable to proceed due to an obstruction and suspected a mass in the rectum. He was then transferred to Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, CO.

> On 6/15/17 Dennis was taken into surgery to attempt a laproscopic surgery to place a colostomy. At that time it was found that the right side of his colon had ruptured. The laproscopic procedure become an open procedure, which resulted with a 12-13 inch incision on his abdomen. The ruptured portion of the bowel had to be removed. The bowel was too swollen to attach to the ostomy that was made, so the doctors closed the incision for the time being and he was scheduled another surgery for 6/17/17. A 1.5 - 2 hour surgery turned into a 4 hour surgery and it was at that point the surgeons were pretty certain Dennis had cancer that involved the entire pelvic region. The doctors wanted to give him time to somewhat heal before continuing.

> On 6/17/17 Dennis had another surgery to connect the colon to the ostomy that was placed on 6/15. The surgeons utilized the incision from 6/15 to perform the surgery. They connected the colon to the ostomy that was placed from his previous surgery and they placed an iliostomy and attached his upper GI tract. He now has to 2 ostomies.

> On 6/19/17 Dennis began bleeding from his rectum. He became unstable very quick. It was found that his blood was thin, most likely due to malnutrition and he received a total of 3 units of plasma and 8 units of blood throughout the day. Once he became more stable he had to have yet another procedure to find the source of the bleeding. It was found that a small artery feeding the tumor was the culprit. An embolic coil was placed to stop the bleeding, and it was a success. He is improving daily. He currently is off of the oxygen, the catheter is removed, NG tube removed, wound vac removed, drains are removed, as well as the abdominal pain pump. He has a PICC line and is is receiving TPN for nutrition which accounts for 90% of his calories.
The biopsies confirmed cancer of the bottom portion on his GI tract. Dennis will start chemo and radiation the beginning of July to shrink the 7 cm x 7 cm tumor, which is quite large. His radiation treatments will be Monday through Friday and chemo everyday for 5 weeks. After they shrink the tumor they will then surgically remove it. Once the surgery is complete it will be determined if he needs to continue with chemotherapy. Dennis will be having his treatments at St. Joseph Cancer Center in Denver. With all the treatments and surgeries, its estimated that it will take approximately a year.
