Dennis Cook Open Heart Surgery Fund

Dennis got the flu. It didn't seem so bad until just before we were to return to Panama; he got really sick. So sick in fact that he asked me to take him to the ER. (this from a man that will stick it out through nearly anything). So we went, and we went again. On the 3rd time the Doctor (who was a Godsend) Malela felt something was "off." So he did more tests. The test showed 3 blockages causing Dennis not to be able to breathe functionally. So then we met the Doctor Parr at St. Vincents. Next stop was the surgeon. Yet Dennis wasn't over the bronchitis yet so we waited and we waited. Finally the green light for surgery. After 6 hours of surgery and 3 brand new bypasses, he is on the mend. We aren't out of the woods yet. Dennis has an uphill battle to climb to be back to his old self and better. The Dr said that he should regain 85% of what he had lost for functionality. He's gonna be like a brand new man. God help us all! LOL. The medical expenses are something that we hadn't thought about. Dennis has Medicare and that will cover most of it but there are lots of little things that really add up. IE: hotel stay near the hospital during his recovery. They gave us a huge discount but it will still be over $1,000 just for that. We believe God will provide the funds to cover all of these expenses. Thank you!
