Denise's Cancer Treatment

About three weeks ago my mom started having abdominal pain. After three or four days of this she decided to go to the doctor, at this appointment she was told it was probably just gallstones, but that they could get an MRI to be sure. 

The MRI showed the gallstones and a mass on her pancreas. After countless doctors’ visits and a lot of frustration, the surgeon assigned to her case finally told her the cold, hard truth. That the mass was cancer. 

Obviously we were devastated, but the doctor said that there was still a possibility that it was a benign cancer, but we wouldn't know until the pathology report after a surgery to remove the mass, half of her pancreas, her spleen, and her gallbladder. 

This surgery took place on Tuesday, 6/20, on Friday the 23rd we received the pathology report. It was a malignant cancer and had infected 3 of her lymph nodes. She would have to start chemo and radiation in less than a month.

Everything is moving so quickly, so I am really hoping to make the most of the time I have left with my mom. She is my best friend in the whole world and the thought of losing her is devastating. I want to make this time as easy for her and my dad as possible.

Where the funds will be going
Medical bills are expensive, she shouldn't have to stress about that while she's trying to fight off this horrible disease. Nor do I have the financial means to be able to sustain her during this hard time.  I know it would mean the world to her if she could fly out to North Carolina one last time to see her parents. Bringing someone joy in the last months of their life is all you could ever ask for.

I want to give her the world, unfortunately that comes with a price.
