DELMA - Fund Raiser for Kerala

The State of Kerala is going through its worst natural disaster in over a century with heavy rain, landslides and flash floods. To date, there are hundreds of reported deaths while thousands are in make shift shelters and camps. There is a dire need for essentials like food, water, medicines etc. Delaware Malayalee Association (a Kerala cultural organization in Delaware, USA) is organizing a fund drive to benefit the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) and other eligible groups to support the massive humanitarian and rehabilitation effort.

1) Who you are and where you’re from
Padmaraj Nair is the elected President, Delware Malayalee Association (DELMA - a Delaware registered Cultural Organization) for the year 2018-19
2) Your relationship or contact to the parties you're raising funds for
DELMA is a Not for Profit Cultural organization for the residents of Delaware and border towns from nearby states like PA, MD and NJ who are originally from Kerala state in India or the descendant of Kerala people
3) How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible)
The current beneficiary, Sabarish Chandrasekharan is the elected Treasurer of DELMA who will withdraw the fund to the DELMA organization bank account in US and the fund will be used to benefit the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) and other eligible NGO/NPO organization (evaluation is in progress) to support the massive humanitarian and rehabilitation effort. CMDRF funds are being managed by the Kerala State Government for infrastructure rebuild and other rehabilitation effort. A DELMA bank account check will be issue for this. In addition, DELMA is also evaluating other NGO/NPO groups who can help build shelters/houses with the funds available of the flood impacted people in need. A DELMA bank account check will be issue for this as well.
4) Your withdrawal plan to get the funds from the campaign to the ultimate beneficiary/ies
