Deliver the Diesel Williamsville Depot Fall 2020
Donation protected
OUR GOAL HAS BEEN LOWERED TO $50,000 AS SPONSORS HAVE STEPPED UP TO SUPPORT OUR CAMPAIGN.
I am a member of the Western New York Railway Historical Society, and a steering committee member of the Williamsville Depot, 86 S. Long St., Williamsville, NY 14221. The Depot has an acquisition of Locomotive #8666 (former Lehigh Valley RR #252) that is currently in Dresden, NY. The cost to bring it to our location by Fall of 2020 will be in excess of $150,000.00. This includes, purchase price, transportation, delivery and set-up on tracks at the Historic Williamsville Railway campus. Having this Locomotive on our campus will enhance the history of the Lehigh Valley Railway for the future. Our Depot was built in 1896. On our site we have a Lehigh Valley caboose number 95050, which is an all steel caboose, built in 1937. A box car was added in 2016.
The Western New York Railway Historical Society is devoted to preserving the railroad heritage and history of Western New York.
