Delbert Richardson's Mobile Museum to Africa

THE RETURN
In March 2020, my national award-winning “American History Traveling Museum: The Unspoken Truths” will be traveling to two countries in Africa – Benin and Burkina Faso. The mission of the trip: the re-education of Africans in African American and American History. 2019 marks the 400-year anniversary of the first Africans brought to the British colony of Virginia. I plan to shoot a documentary to capture this historic event as Africans on the continent interact with 400 years of African American history.
The mobile museum is an interdisciplinary educational experience. With the use of authentic artifacts, storyboards, and the ancient art of storytelling, this multi-sensory “hands on” exhibit creates an opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to learn the missing pieces of American History. The traveling museum has won acclaim in recent years, including the Mayor’s Arts Award as well as the 2019 CrossCut Courage Award.
The budget for the trip: $10,000. The trip will consist of myself, one assistant, and a videographer. All tax-deductible donations should be addressed to: Seattle-African Sister Cities Committee. (EIN# 94-3088256) Thank you, family. No donation is too big or too small.
I sincerely appreciate your support!
