Deicon Russell play Peewee Hockey for Team Canada

Dustie and Wade are happy to announce that their son, Deicon Russell is one out of six defencemen invited to play for Team Canada, on the Peewee Cowboys European Hockey Tour, that will take place this July 30th - August 11th 2020.
The tour will take him to Austria, Italy and the Czech Republic to play hockey. Pretty amazing opportunity for this Northern BC kid.
Deicon has been playing hockey basically since he was able to walk!
He has done 8 years of hockey school all over the province of BC and for the last two years had to travel to neighbouring towns, Smithers and Kitimat, to play hockey as his own home towns’ ice rink was under-construction. They now have a beautiful new arena in Hazelton for him and the community to play on.
In 2010 Deicon got to watch Sid the kid win with the golden goal for team Canada along with his uncle Bruce Wilson JR which sparked his dream to play for team Canada.

He is 12 years old.
Born and raised in Kispiox, BC just outside the town of Hazelton BC.
Grade 7 at the Kispiox Community School.
Favourite food: Moose meat, fish, poutine and pizza .
Favourite colour: Blue.
Favourite school subject : Gitxsan Class.
Favourite sport: Hockey and soccer.
The whole trip will cost around $ 12,000
The $ 2000 down payment to secure is spot has already been generously paid for by a donation and the first payment lot by his parents.
We have local community fund-raising in the works as well so are setting a goal of $ 7,000 on this go fund me page.
