I’m starting to fundraise for the Fairfield Football Club to get a defibrillator at the grounds! Defibrillators themselves are amazing life saving pieces of equipment that could be there to help save your life or someone you know! Insert crazy fact....
If defibrillated within the first minute of collapse, the victim's chances for survival are close to 90 percent. For every minute that defibrillation is delayed, survival decreases by 7 percent to 10 percent. If it is delayed by more than 10 minutes, the chance of survival in adults is less than 5 percent.
Considering these stats and the fact that my dad waited 25 minutes on an ambulance not knowing how serious the situation was or that he was having a heart attack it could have been the difference between his survival after flat lining minutes after the ambulance arrived! The fact that these are not in every sports facility shocked me but the price of them is too expensive for small businesses/owners!
So myself (Jimmy’s daughter Amber Etchels) and my brother (Bradley Etchels) will be doing all we can to make sure that we can raise enough funds to get one at least at Fairfield FC.
No matter how big or small your donation is it will go towards saving a life!
