I founded The Grayzone because there was simply nowhere else for me and many other independent journalists to go. By the time we launched as a fully independent outlet in 2018, mainstream press was a largely sold-out propaganda factory and even the supposedly alternative outlets that once provided us with a sanctuary from the corporate media had succumbed to imperialist narratives.

Since then, The Grayzone has gathered an international audience of critical thinkers and truth-seekers like yourself, and we’ve made headlines around the world with our investigative reporting. Most importantly, our work has disrupted the violent regime change operations and information warfare campaigns waged by an unaccountable imperial elite in Washington and Western Europe.

This is precisely why British counter-terror police recently detained and interrogated one of our most valued contributors, Kit Klarenberg, grilling him about the blockbuster journalism he’s produced for us about the UK’s covert operations.

Unlike Julian Assange, Kit was able to make it out of his home country without being arrested. But he remains under official investigation. That’s right – Kit’s entirely factual reporting is being treated as a potential act of terrorism by the British state.

His viral reporting on revelations that the CIA recruited two would-be 9/11 hijackers apparently played a role in triggering his detention. In the face of the British state’s repressive actions and threats, Kit has remained defiant, telling The Hill’s Rising, “I and the Grayzone refuse to be bullied and intimidated.”

From post-coup Bolivia to the besieged region of Donbas, where he provided the world with terrifying footage of the Ukrainian military’s shelling of densely populated civilian areas, Wyatt Reed has reported from the front lines of conflict zones and busted regime change operatives with unwavering courage.

I’ve collaborated with Alex Rubinstein for years as he produced some of The Grayzone’s most important deep-dive investigations. Since the Ukraine escalation in February 2022, Alex has exposed the NAFO troll farm as a front for war criminals led by a Georgian warlord, revealed that comedian Jon Stewart and the Pentagon gave an award to a literal Ukrainian neo-Nazi at Disneyland, and tracked the blood-stained journeys of violent US white nationalists to the Ukrainian battlefield.
