Defeating Dementia

Tax deductible
As some of you may know, Dementia and Alzheimer’s has had a massive impact on our family so this charity is close to our hearts. We saw a fundraiser advertised to help raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK and knew we had to do it. So, throughout the month of May, we (Mum and I) will be swimming 5km to try and help defeat Dementia.

Our incredible grandparents/parents have both been cursed with this horrible disease. It is one of the hardest things to watch someone you love so dearly slowly slip out of their body and become a shell of the people you love. The heartache of them not remembering you is unforgettable. Grief is hard but grieving for a person who is still alive is even worse.

Every 3 seconds a new Dementia diagnosis is given world wide. In the UK alone almost 600 people develop Dementia EVERY day. This cruel disease isn’t picky with its victims and affects people of all ages. 1 in 3 children born in the UK today will develop dementia. Something has to change.

We’re not ones to ask for money but any spare change you may have would mean the world to us.

Abbie and Lisa
