Dee Anderson Memorial Bench

Donation protected
Dorothy “Dee” Anderson , a longtime community activist , fundraiser and friend sadly passed away on August 29, 2020. She lived in Satellite Beach, FL for over 50 years with her family, involved in everything from politics, school activities, church ministries, to helping those in need throughout Brevard County. Her daughters, Martha L. Kirby, Kathy Fadul and Maria Zaborniak-Spencer, would like to request that in lieu of flowers her friends make a donation to her GoFundMe account. The City of Satellite Beach is graciously letting us purchase a memorial bench for Mom, surrounding it with memory bricks to be placed in Pelican Beach Park. We started this GoFundMe account to facilitate that and any leftover monies will go to her favorite charity, Satellite Cares, which is affiliated with the Satellite Beach Volunteer Fire Department, a 501c(3) charity.
This is something she would get a kick out of, as she was all about fundraising for causes her entire life. This time it’s for her.
As many of you may remember, Mom started the “Lights out at the Beach” for the turtles, making Satellite Beach the first community to do so in the State. When the beach dune crossovers were destroyed in a storm, she raised all the monies to have them rebuilt. She started Founders Day/Marketplace, which is still happening over 45 years later. This is just a small representation of her work, too numerous to list all those she helped or touched with her kindness over her vibrant 94 years.

Dee's daughter and Satellite Beach resident, Martha L. Kirby, will be in charge of the disbursement of funds accordingly.
