Neck Surgery for Dustin
Dustin has been experiencing neck problems for awhile now and it's finally reached the point where its become unbearably painful for him. Last Friday we took him in to have an MRI done and early Monday morning we received a call that they were referring him to a neurosurgeon. Hours later we got the call from the neurosurgeon's office and they told us that Dustin needed to be seen immediately and to use caution when making any movements as he's at serious risk of severing his spinal cord. The appointment with the surgeon revealed that he has 4 herniated discs and one of those is pressing against his spinal cord restricting flow in turn causing him severe pain, loss of coordination in both hands, and mobility issues.He just started a job that does have insurance but it hasn't gone into affect yet so we are currently trying to get our previous insurance reinstated, which is a big hassle and very expensive!!
His surgeon is currently trying to expedite the surgery and as long as we can get everything approved and come up with the down payment for it, he will be able to have his surgeries by next week. This is so stressful and expensive for us as Dustin isn't able to return to work for an undetermined amount of time.
The surgeon has informed us that if we don't get this surgery as soon as possible Dustin will be restricted to a wheelchair, possibly paralyzed, within six months.
We hate asking for help so this is very hard for us but we are at a loss and praying for a miracle at this point ❤
